We don't
want just bums on seats - we want members to contribute towards our
meetings. Sharing ideas, showing or giving reports on their work.
We want learners as well as experienced amateur astronomers. We
want people who want hands-on astronomy, using scopes etc and astro-imaging.
We will invite selected speakers during the year; those whose
subject will be of interest to all the members.
We meet on the
first Monday in the month at the Southwick Community Centre, Southwick, Sussex
, BN42 4TE at 7:30pm.
Our venue is the garden room which has access for those in
wheelchairs and holds up to 50 people. It has a screen for projection and
french doors leading to a small grassed area suitable for setting up telescopes
when the weather permits.
The society is for
members only at an annual subscription of £25.00 and application forms
are available from our secretary. We can offer a "country membership" for those
outside of Sussex who cannot attend more than three meetings per
year.
If this is what you are looking for, this is
your club. |
